SBCC Communication & SRHR
Project Highlights & Measurable Impact
- IEC Toolkit for SRHR in Displacement Camps: Developed a full suite of IEC materials on family planning, maternal health, and GBV prevention for displaced populations in Borno State. The toolkit was adopted by three partner NGOs and reached over 15,000 individuals in six months.
- SBCC Strategy and Manual Development for Community Health Volunteers: Designed and implemented a behavior change communication strategy for a reproductive health project across five LGAs in northern Nigeria. Delivered two standardized training manuals used to train 80+ volunteers, leading to a 22% increase in contraceptive uptake in target communities.
- Youth Thrive – Mental Health & SRHR Messaging Integration: Integrated SRHR into mental health peer support groups in conflict-affected areas, reaching 1,200+ youth with messages on emotional well-being, relationships, and safe SRHR practices. Follow-up assessments showed a 17% increase in youth seeking counseling or referrals.
- Partnership with IPAS Nigeria: Supported the development of information communication materials and community mobilization content across three Nigerian states (Borno, Benue, and Oyo) as part of a project to increase awareness of and access to comprehensive abortion care and post-abortion family planning. Our work included developing targeted messaging guides, adapting training materials for peer educators

Partner With Us Today
At AGE Solutions, we recognize that sustainable health and development outcomes are rooted in strategic, evidence-based communication. Our work in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) focuses on shaping positive behaviors, increasing service uptake, and reducing stigma—especially around sensitive health issues.
Through targeted messaging, community engagement, and inclusive content development, we help organizations drive behavior change and improve access to life-saving SRHR services.
Our Services
Our Core SBCC & SRHR Services
We deliver integrated, culturally sensitive communication solutions across the following service areas:

SBCC Strategy Development
We design comprehensive, research-informed SBCC strategies aligned with program goals and community realities. These strategies guide the selection of messages, channels, and messengers for maximum impact.

IEC Material Development
We develop high-impact Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials that inform and engage target audiences. These include posters, flyers, radio scripts, videos, infographics, and digital content tailored to local literacy levels and languages.

Training Manual Development & Capacity Building
AGE Solutions creates engaging and practical training manuals for health workers, peer educators, and outreach volunteers. These manuals are used for capacity-building efforts in topics such as adolescent SRHR, family planning counseling, stigma reduction, and referral pathways.

Message Development and Testing
We employ human-centered design approaches to craft messages that resonate. Our team conducts pre-testing and validation with target users to ensure accuracy, relevance, and cultural alignment.

Community Mobilization & Dialogue Facilitation
We organize participatory community dialogues, house-to-house engagements, town halls, and influencer briefings that encourage open conversation and long-term behavior change.

Multimedia Campaigns
We execute integrated campaigns across radio, social media, WhatsApp groups, and interpersonal networks to ensure broad and sustained message reach.
Our Approach
Evidence-Based: Every communication product or campaign is informed by research, behavioral theories (e.g., COM-B, Social Norms Theory), and real-time feedback loops.
Participatory: We involve community members, end-users, and stakeholders in design and testing to ensure relevance and ownership.
Cultural Sensitivity: Our team tailors all interventions to align with local values, beliefs, and languages. This includes working with local artists, community influencers, and religious leaders, and using focus groups and key informant interviews during the development phase to refine content and tone.
Scalable & Sustainable: We ensure materials and campaigns are adaptable for different regions and future programming needs—allowing for scale-up and localization.
